Painful setbacks and exciting possibilities

Back in December I tracked piano and vocals for my forthcoming EP. For a variety of reasons, I will not be using those tracks. The setbacks over the last few months have been incredibly painful, but as a friend reminded me today, the obstacles will ultimately lead to a more personally satisfying experience making the record and will contribute to a more wholly representative piece of work. I’m even considering writing more songs surrounding the theme of the EP and perhaps turning the project into a full-length album.

In other news, on Saturday, May 13th, I’ll be performing live for the first time in four years. I’m playing a short set as part of a local showcase and am very much looking forward to singing live and sharing the music in my heart in real time.

Lastly, I’m very happy to share that almost six weeks ago, I began a specialist certification program with the online extension school of Berklee College of Music. I hope and intend to complete several of the certifications they offer. I’m finally investing in myself as a musician and taking concrete steps to become a bona fide professional. It feels amazing. Possibilities abound.
